The Watercress Journal is a new literary magazine based in Lakewood, Ohio. We are looking for work that examines humanity and what it means to exist in a world of subjective realms. Not sure what that means? Neither are we. Surprise us. Inspire us. Know the rules and how to break them. Show us something that no one has seen before and do it without cliches.
The first edition has just arrived and can be found on the main menu to the left.
What's Going On Watercress?
January 10, 2013
I apologize for the two month hiatus. We have been busy editing and putting together the first volume. Based on an abundance of submissions (I had no idea we would receive the number of submissions we did...), I chose not to include poetry in the first volume. That said, I plan on highlighting the second volume with, at the least, eight to ten poems. The next competition will be our first in the genre of poetry and will open on or around February 1st. I will continue reading through the poetry submissions I have already received, all of which are being considered for publication. Learning from my mistakes, I will have a smaller window for open submissions. I apologize to those of you who are still waiting to hear back. You will soon.
I am very excited about the first volume. I would like to thank Ryan Stuck for his help with the internal stuff.
Please share the link to the first volume and help get the word out. There will be a kindle version up soon.
Thanks again to everyone who has submitted and helped make this journal possible. I look forward to seeing what is in store for the second volume!
Until next time,
